2nd November - Annual Auction of Props

On 2nd November the club was due to hold its annual props auction, but due to other personal commitments for 2 committee members it would have been difficult to run the auction successfully, so it was decided to hold a club night at the November meeting instead. Apologies for the late decision on this but it seemed to be the only way to resolve a difficult situation.

The auction will now be held at the January meeting instead of the planned club night, so hold on to those items for sale and bring them along to our first meeting of 2010 – it’ll be a great way to get over those post-Christmas blues!

In the end the November club night was attended by around 12 members who spent useful time demonstrating various effects and tricks to each other, and all went away happy. At the meeting we welcomed Lee Pankhurst and his dad back to the fold – good to see you again Lee, and welcome back to the club!
Additionally, congratulations must go to James Gilroy who successfully took and passed his audition at the meeting. James is slightly younger than our usual minimum age for membership, but in view of his enthusiasm for magic not to mention his obvious talent, the committee decided to stretch a point in order to help encourage James on his magical journey. We’ll present James with his membership certificate and badge at the next meeting.
